Demi Lovato

We all know Demi! Demi is a singer and songwriter who was born in August 1992. After appearing in the children’s television series Barney & Friends 2002 to 2004, she rose to prominence for her role as Mitchie Torres in the Disney Channel musical television film Camp Rock and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, as well as the titular character on Sonny with a Chance. The former film’s soundtrack included “This Is Me”, Lovato’s duet with Joe Jonas, which peaked in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100.

After signing with Hollywood Records, Lovato released her pop-rock debut album, Don’t Forget, which charted at number two on the Billboard 200. Its follow-up, Here We Go Again, debuted at number one in the US and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Lovato experimented with pop and R&B on her third studio album, Unbroken, and returned to a more pop-friendly sound on her fourth studio album, Demi. The album debuted with 110,000 copies sold in the US, her highest first-week sales in the country. Lovato’s soul-influenced fifth and sixth studio albums, Confident and Tell Me You Love Me, presented more mature lyrical content than previous works.

Norah Jones

Norah, singer-songwriter and actress, born in Brooklyn, New York, lived in Grapevine. She has won multiple awards and has sold more than 50 million records worldwide. Billboard named her the top jazz artist of the 2000s decade. She has won nine Grammy Awards and was ranked 60th on Billboard magazine’s artists of the 2000s decade chart. In 2002, Jones launched her solo music career with the release of Come Away with Me, which was a fusion of jazz with country, blues, folk, and pop. It was certified diamond, selling over 27 million copies.

The record earned Jones five Grammy Awards, including the Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best New Artist. Her subsequent studio albums—Feels Like Home, released in 2004, Not Too Late, released in 2007, and 2009’s The Fall all gained Platinum status, selling over a million copies each. They were also generally well-received by critics. Jones’s fifth studio album, Little Broken Hearts, was released on April 27, 2012; her sixth, Day Breaks, was released on October 7, 2016. Her seventh studio album, Pick Me Up Off the Floor, was released on June 12, 2020.
