Ever heard of love at first bite? Well, it is an actual thing. They say the best way to your special someone’s heart is through his or her stomach. So what better way to ignite the flames than a magical meal at a dreamy dining spot? Luckily, Plano has no shortage of romantic restaurants to set the mood. Whether it’s a first date, special occasion, or just an intimate meal for two, be sure to keep this fail-proof list handy when you want to make a good impression.
Better than Sex Desserts
If your sweetie has a penchant for sweets, then this dessert-fueled paradise for grown-ups is your destination. Here you’ll find a range of decadent treats with cheeky names like the Italian Stallion (a take on tiramisu) and Popcorn Pimp Cheesecake (cheesecake topped with salted popcorn chocolate bark and caramel), backed up with a selection of signature “rim job” wines, coffees and cordials. Whether the desserts are better than sex may be debatable, but the 1940’s bordello vibe (think red and gold décor, dim lighting, and crystal chandeliers) is undoubtedly a shoo-in for seduction. Unsurprisingly, it’s a very popular place to pop the question. Best to book in advance, otherwise expect a wait. Better than Sex is a great spot for late-night desserts and drinks in a casual, atmospheric setting.
To make things even more special, request that they customize your date’s plate with a greeting written in chocolate. Note that extra parking can be found on the main level of the condo building’s garage behind the restaurant. Better than Sex is a restaurant that features some of the best desserts wrapped up in an intimate speakeasy-like atmosphere. We also feature something found nowhere else; chocolate and caramel covered wines, beers, and house-made cocktails. And unlike other restaurants, our tables have some level of privacy with a wall or curtain in between most of them. They are the perfect place for a date night, to celebrate special moments or time with a few friends.
The restaurant’s dream began in 2003. “As newlyweds, I was eager to make my husband’s every desire a reality, so when he exclaimed to me ‘I want dessert!’ I wanted to impress!” said one of the owners. Four hours later after patiently waiting, a fully decorated two-layer Oreo Cookie Cake appeared. Len was a happy hubby. He proclaimed it ‘amazingly delicious’ and said “wow, if you can do this, what else can you do?” I am not one for letting go of a challenge and really wanted to “show him” what I could do! Then began the odyssey that lead us to today.
